The 10/40 Window refers to the geographical region that is 10 degrees to 40 degrees north of the equator. This term is used by missiologists, referring to the most unevangelized parts of the world today. The poorest and the most uneducated peoples of the world live in this region. Islam, Hinduism, and Buddhism are the dominant religions in the 10/40 Window. Countries in this region include (amongst many others) Bangladesh, Pakistan, Chad, Thailand, North Korea, Mali, Laos, Nepal, Myanmar, Benin, India, China, Bhutan, Macau, Cambodia, Mauritania, Vietnam, Saudi Arabia, Eritrea, Algeria, and Morocco.
God has called each ministry to serve in a different way, and each is valuable in His sight. Living Impact's primary focus is on spreading the Good News of hope and forming new congregations by indigenous workers who already know the language and culture. We recruit workers who are ‘apostolic’ in their capacity and calling, encompassing the five-fold ministries as per Ephesians 4:11-12. We do not sponsor pastors of local churches. At the same time, our ministry is wholistic in that we also promote community enhancement and poverty reduction projects.
Yes, absolutely. Church planters are trained and supervised by our indigenous trainer, who is an experienced full-time staff member.
No. Church planters will endeavour to raise up lay/volunteer pastors and elders, equipping them to do the work of the ministry.
The reason is because we want sponsors of native workers to be confident that their giving is maximized for the respective mission field. We depend largely on general donations for operational and administrative expenses.
